Attendance Policy

JHS 123 strives to have 100% attendance every day! Being in school everyday and having good attendance is extremely important to a student's growth and academic success. If students are absent from school, they miss out on important learning and may fall behind on assignments. Students should do their best to be in school everyday unless they are sick or have a family emergency.

Attendance is taken every day during first period. It is important that students are on time and ready to learn at 8:07am.

  • If students are late to school during 1st period (8:07 - 8:55am) - Enter the building through the main entrance and receive a late pass from a staff member. Students then head directly to class.
  • If students are late to school after first period (8:55am) - Go to the Main Office and get a late pass from a staff member. Students then head directly to class.

If a student is absent or late, the attendance office will call home to determine why they are not in school and check that everything is okay. If a student knows they will be absent for any reason, please call the school in advance to inform the teachers.
